Pulmonary Pathology
Pulmonary pathology is the subspecialty which deals with the diagnosis of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the lungs and thoracic pleura. Diagnostic specimens are often obtained via bronchoscopic transbronchial biopsy, CT-guided percutaneous biopsy, or video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).

The HNL Center for Anatomic Pathology's Pulmonary Pathology Division is staffed by board-certified pathologists expert in the diagnosis of diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tracts including neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions such as Lung Cancer, Pneumonias, Chronic Interstitial Airways Disease (Emphysema) and infectious diseases.
