The HNL Toxicology Department is staffed by board certified professionals offering 24 hour services in both clinical and forensic toxicology. The Toxicology Laboratory is accredited by the PA Department of Health and the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
Therapeutic drug monitoring aids physicians in monitoring drug levels and establishing the correct dosage necessary for the treatment of conditions including asthma, cardiovascular diseases, infections, neurological disorders and transplantation. Drug screening and emergency toxicology services also assist in the detection of drug abuse and in the diagnosis and treatment of drug overdose.
Forensic toxicology services include screening and confirmation testing for alcohol and drugs of abuse in workplace drug screening programs, probation and parole, DUI, and postmortem toxicology.
State of the art technologies are used for both screening and confirmation testing including Gas Chromatography/Mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
