The HNL special Chemistry Laboratory offers electrophoresis, HPLC, nephelometry, enzyme immunoassay, and RIA (radioimmunoassay). Subspecialty areas of focus include protein studies such as multiple myeloma, hemoglobinopathy evaluations, tumor marker testing, prenatal testing for neural tube defects, Down’s Syndrome, and trisomy 18. Allergy testing (ImmunoCAP system) is also provided by HNL’s special Chemistry division.
