The HNL Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service, provides the patients of the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network with blood and/or blood components when necessary including packed red cells, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate, and platelets.
The Transfusion Medicine Service laboratory staff provides blood typing, antibody screening and compatibility testing routinely and expeditiously as needed in the provision of Level I trauma services for Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network and routinely for other HNL clients. The Transfusion Medicine Service is a leader in Blood Bank Automation and also provides special studies including antibody identification, elutions, and antibody titrations.
